On Monday, April 4, 2005, Darwin Olson, father of my former wife Deanna, and I went for a visit to the home of Charlie Young in Mendocino County. Charlie is an old friend of Darwin's son, Brent, who also introduced Charlie to me last year. Charlie met Darwin last year in Arizona at a rodeo where they had gone with Brent, Brent's partner Eric Ireland, and Deanna.

On Tuesday, April 5, Darwin and I drove from Charlie's place west to Highway 1 on the Pacific Coast. We drove down through Fort Bragg and stopped in the town of Mendocino for lunch. Along the coast highway we stopped for a visit to the lovely Sea Ranch Chapel. After following Highway 1 south to Jenner, we turned east up the Russian River to our home in Guerneville.
